Opening in October 2020, Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre is a world class centre, centrally located in the heart of Christchurch; the gateway to the magnificent South Island of New Zealand.

Reporting to the Director of Building Services you will be responsible for input, planning, budgeting and delivery of the maintenance requirements of Te Pae. Maintenance services will be delivered through a mix of internal team and contracted external suppliers. Understanding and embracing the needs of internal and external clients will be key to success.

During the pre-opening phase responsibilities include roll-out of policies and procedures, system implementation and training. In conjunction with the building owner, you will witness commissioning of the plant and building, be trained on operational aspects of all plant and equipment and focus on operational readiness.

In the initial operating phase, your attention will turn to assisting the Defect Liability Period and ensuring the builder and sub-contractors deliver maintenance and warranty requirements as per the contract.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Be suitably qualified and have in-depth knowledge of AM/FM planning and practices.
  • Have a detail driven attitude to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Have experience in managing staff and interacting positively and professionally with other departments.
  • Train, encourage and develop the maintenance team.
  • Be able to work as a member of a high-level team providing advice to the business on all aspects of the AM/FM process.
  • The ability to manage contractors and to ensure their work practices meet the health and safety requirements of the Centre.

The role requires flexible working hours, the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines. Salary will commensurate with experience.
