Te Pae Christchurch is a world class convention centre, centrally located in the heart of Christchurch, the gateway to the magnificent South Island of New Zealand.

The casual kitchen hand will be required to support the kitchen brigade in the operation of a clean efficient culinary department. This is a role that requires a positive professional attitude and high quality standards.

Key duties

  • Washing and sanitising of all kitchen equipment
  • Ensuring that the kitchen, scullery, garage room and storage areas are clean and orderly
  • Ensuring that food safety standards are carried out and monitored
  • Carry out bulk washing of all cutlery, crockery and glassware.

The successful candidate will

  • Have a minimum 12 months’ experience in a similar role
  • Have a positive attitude, and a willingness to help
  • Be able to work well as part of a team
  • Knowledge of commercial dishwashers and cleaning chemicals is an advantage.

As this an operational role the successful candidate will be required to work late nights and weekends. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
